Operational assessment of the corn and soybean sectors in Côte d’Ivoire to identify priority actions and support sustainable and adaptive development within the framework of PARFACI.

The Project to Support the Revitalization of Agricultural Value Chains in Côte d’Ivoire (PARFACI) aims to boost the productivity and sustainability of key agricultural value chains, including maize and soybeans. To guide these interventions, it is essential to have a clear understanding of the strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities within these value chains.

Mission Objective

The goal was to identify priority actions to be implemented in order to strengthen the performance and sustainability of the corn and soybean sectors, while facilitating their scaling up to meet the needs of the national and regional markets.

Our Approach

To achieve these goals, we have carried out:

  • A detailed mapping of the supply chains, identifying key stakeholders, production pathways, and major points of vulnerability;
  • An analysis of strategic areas of focus, enabling the identification of priorities for the sustainable development of the sectors;
  • Support for scaling up, by identifying ways to improve the productivity, quality, and resilience of agricultural systems.

Toward More Efficient and Sustainable Supply Chains

This operational assessment provides a solid strategic foundation to guide PARFACI’s decisions and actions. It helps create more competitive and sustainable maize and soybean value chains capable of meeting the growing needs of the Ivorian and regional markets.
